A Senior Research Fellow at the University of Ghana has bemoaned what he says is double standards in the country’s education setup.
Dr Obadele Kambon who is also the Head of the Language, Literature and Drama Section of the Institute of African Studies says this development indicates “that we denigrate our own but treat white people differently.”
“The same people who went to this school and are taught to worship an imaginary white man – if that exact same imaginary white man came there and said, ‘I want to go to school,’ would they ask this imaginary white man that they pray to every Sunday, ‘You have to cut this bushy hair that you have?'” asked Dr Kambon.
The racial and geographical origins of the ancient Egyptians have been a mystery since Champollion deciphered the hieroglyphs in 1822. The prevailing consensus is that the ancient Egyptian civilisation was home-grown on the Nile Valley. But new discoveries in the Egyptian Sahara will challenge this consensus, and show that the origins of the pharaohs hark back several thousands of years before the foundation of the dynastic period (c.3000 BC) and, furthermore, that the first 'Egyptians' were from a black Sub-Saharan race coming from the Tibesti mountains in northern Chad some 12,500 years ago. The oldest known 'astronomical' megaliths in the world, those of of Nabta Playa are examined in this presentation.Born in Egypt in 1948, Robert Bauval, bestselling author of The Orion Mystery (1994), Keeper of Genesis (1996) and three books with best-selling author Graham Hancock (The Message of the Sphinx, Talisman, and The Mars Mystery), presents evidence published in the book, Black Genesis, (co-authored with US physicist Thomas Brophy). http://www.robertbauval.co.ukFilmed at WCCSG Conference, August 2011, Wiltshire by Hugh Newman & Jonathan Adams.Copyright Megalithomania/Pentos TV 2011. Ghana's official language is English because of its colonial past.
However there are so many local languages spoken and many travellers along with those who relocate to Ghana are eager to learn a language.
Some of the most common languages in Ghana are Twi, Ga, Fante, Ewe, Hausa, and Dagbane.
I am streaming live again this weekend! We are talking about How you can learn a Ghanaian Language. On Sunday July 12 at 5pm GMT (1pm EDT) on YouTube and Facebook.
This episode I speak with Emmanuel Amoh-Obeng, CEO and Founder of the Twi Learning Centre.
Dr. Ọbádélé Bakari Kambon, who has a PhD in Linguistics and will be sharing his insight on how anyone can learn a language. He has become fluent in speaking Twi and other languages in Africa he will share in this discussion.
We also have Diallo Sumbry, CEO of The Adinkra Group and Birthright Tours. He has been organizing travel groups to Ghana for many years. He's recently organized Twi cl****es for his network of travellers interested in learning a local language.

“#IGrowYourFood” is a part of GoodFood4All” campaign.
There are many things that connect people the world over. Food is one of them. We all have to eat. And, everyone has the right to access affordable, nutritious, good food.
But what about those who grow our food?
Do we know enough about the challenges they face, the work they do and how we can support them?
Then, without farmers, how would we eat?
The “#GoodFood4All” campaign is organized by 25 partners across Europe who have come together in "Make Europe Sustainable for All", a 3-year cross-sectoral project to promote the ambitious implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
