Description: Scholars Dr. Julius Garvey and Robin Walker with Dr Joyce King, discuss dynamic methods and modulates to best take Black Education and Studies forward, at multiple levels, including the Academic and Community level. The importance of bridging the cultural language gaps between English, Francophile and Spain speaking worlds is keenly sited, as such cultural and intellectual ‘cross pollination’ often brings new insights and ideas to the fore that often wouldn’t be achieved otherwise. Dr Joyce King gives a beauty example of this, recanting when a Brazilian friend and academic on a tour of Egypt they both took together, discovered and observed that the historic place name where an iconic Ancient Temple was located, called ‘Dendera’ bore many similarities to the name of the Palmares Legend and wife of King Zumbi, the iconic Afro Brazilian freedom fighter called ‘Dandara’( the spelling is slightly different, but the pronunciation from the locals was reminiscent ). Something that someone with a different cultural background might not have picked up so easily. On another note, that example also beautifully alludes to the cultural continuity of African brilliance and resilience across time, space, the seven seas and continents across the globe.About the Podcast: In this Revolutionary Podcast series of conversations, the son of the late great Marcus Garvey, the venerable Dr Julius Garvey shares and explores deep thought ideas and concepts with Robin Walker ( The Black History Man ) about the relevance and need for Pan Africanist principles today. How we can utilise and apply them effectively to uplift the Black Diaspora worldwide to bring about the change we need in this modern day and age. In the Principle of ‘Sankofa’ ( Looking back and Remembering ) the African origins and contributions to History, Politics, cooperative Economics, Religion, Science and Technology and Philosophy are explored in depth to inform the listener about the immense achievements of the Black Diaspora as a collective, and to show how we can apply unique African thought concepts and philosophies to our own lives as individuals and communities and to continually progress and improve ourselves as a ‘People’ in the present and the future for the better. The University of Ghana has removed a statue of the Indian independence leader Mahatma Gandhi, citing complaints from faculty and students that he was racist toward black Africans. The statue was donated to the university in 2016 by the Indian government, prompting critics to create the hashtag #GandhiMustFall to draw attention to derogatory statements the young Gandhi had written while living in South Africa.
Gandhi is considered an icon of social justice and defenders of his legacy contend that his writings, while ignorant, should be considered within the greater context of his life and struggle against oppression. Organisers of the hashtag campaign argue that Gandhi’s legacy doesn’t justify racism or his view that Africans were “inferior”.
In this episode, we speak with Gandhi historians and #GandhiMustFall campaigners to explore the impact of Mahatma Gandhi’s reported racism on his legacy as a champion of civil rights. Join the conversation.

In 1968, we had the opportunity to spend time with Thelonious Monk and his musicians, following him in New York, Atlanta, and in various European cities. In New York his quartet plays at the Village Vanguard and at recording sessions for Columbia Records; in Atlanta they appear at a Jazz Festival organized by George Wein. The members of the quartet were Charlie Rouse, Larry Gales, and Ben Riley. The group was joined on the European tour by Ray Copeland, Clark Terry, Phil Woods, and Johnny Griffin, traveling as part of George Wein's Newport Jazz Festival road company.

We can't even imagine events that unfold over several days and years or be aware of elementary particles that flash into existence for less than a billionth of a second without high-tech camera equipment and exceptional filming techniques.

Chris and Master Gardener Stephan Leonard build a hoop house greenhouse on a raised bed garden. All you need to do this are a few PVC pipes, a big sheet of plastic and some simple hardware. We go step by step on how to build it. Hoop houses - like greenhouses - use the sun to warm the soil and air inside. This lets you plant your plants earlier and keep them growing later in the season when outside temperatures would kill them.

We were invited to Tujereng view land a few miles away from the sea, it was a little further than I though but none the less it was lovely there we went to look at land that was available for sale which unfortunately was sold before I could edit this video. Mansa also took us to a friends Cashew plantation.
